Pregnancy Testing You Can Trust
When you think you might be pregnant, the uncertainty can feel overwhelming. Your mind may be racing with questions.
What’s happening with my body?
What should I do next?
How will this affect my life?
The first step toward finding answers is taking a test. This initial result provides peace of mind and clarity as you move forward.
How Pregnancy Testing Works
Pregnancy tests detect a hormone called hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin), which your body produces shortly after a fertilized egg implants in the uterus. While at-home tests can give a quick answer, it’s possible to test too early or misread the results.
Our tests are performed in a confidential setting by trained staff, ensuring you receive accurate results and the opportunity to discuss your next steps with a caring client advocate.
When Should You Test?
Experts recommend testing at least one or two days after your missed period for the most reliable results. Testing in the morning can also increase accuracy since your urine is more concentrated.
If your result is negative but your symptoms continue, waiting a few days and taking another test can allow any hCG time to increase to detectable levels.
Your Next Step After a Positive Test
A pregnancy test confirms the presence of hCG but doesn’t tell you how far along you are or whether the pregnancy is viable. That’s why The Haven offers limited OB ultrasounds performed by licensed nurses to eligible clients.
An ultrasound can confirm the pregnancy’s location, detect a heartbeat, and determine gestational age. This information is essential regardless of the options you are considering to protect your health and safety.
Confidential Support
After your test, our client advocates can provide options consultations, helping you explore your options and get the information you need. Everything is free and confidential.
